Having just had my yearly binge of watching the Oscars (unfortunately not live, as work calls)
I can fully relate to Mark Dupain and the purge of all movie and concert outings.
There is over a decade of total amnesia of actually going to movies and concerts.
I do however recall vividly my daughter in floods of tears in The Lion King when the father is killed in a stampede.
Now I am also left with a total aversion to anything with animation, no matter what the critics say, it is a bridge too far.
Be assured my love of movies came back with a vengeance and have seen the lions share of the Oscar nominees.
Escapism will outlive us.
