Getting sorted.

The de clutter new year, new me project continues.
I will get the house fully organized if it kills me!
Am taking refuge as the driveway is being dug up.
New driveway, new wall, new curtains, clean cupboards.
Thought I had a meeting today about projects in March, but apparently not.
I feel I need to do some study again.
Jerry is gearing up for 2011 @ Flinders.
Would it be a Masters? Post grad is something I would consider if someone else is paying....
Second half of the year??

Fresh beetroot and red cabbage.

So the clean up in the house has gone a bit slower than I thought- hmmmm.............
The summer reading however is going great guns. See previous post.
TV program of the week - Big, bigger, biggest - SBS. Facinating story of how the world's great tunnels are made. They are building a tunnel under the Swiss Alps - yes - under that massive mountain range.
Cooking a roast chook and salads tonight - have fresh beetroot and red cabbage.
To consider - Sunday school picnic? Plan it on the calendar.
Wanders to Adelaide, Norwood and Semaphore.
Fantasy dream - a full time cook in my house doing the whole shebang, shopping, cooking and the clean up - that's what I'm talking about!

All the reviews.

Review of How Starbucks saved my life : how one man who had it all lost everything - then found it again at Starbucks / Michael Gates Gill.
Some harsh critics in the house I see. I do not need to read a linear history of someone's life for it to be considered decent. You sit in a cafe and memories are triggered. People, places, scents. Michael Gates Gill is writing as therapy. How did I get here? Making sense, so life doesn't all make sense. We have many desires that conflict. I went along for the ride and I guess it helps if you are a coffee fiend!

Review of Truth / Peter Temple.
Peter Temple can nail a person with a few sharp words. Delicious text, Stephen Villani - chief of homicide is the lead man. A mix of altruism versus self obsession. A razor wire written interwoven tale of the savage, brutal and mundane life of Melbourne crime and retribution. A modern day Power without Glory. Punchy and powerful. Read it!

Review of What makes us tick? : the ten desires that drive us / Hugh Mackay.
This is a five star read. Hugh McKay is a social researcher who taps into our prime motivations in life. As some one who is very interested in mental health, spirituality and wellbeing this was facinating stuff. Hugh gets to the heart of what really drives us and why we are such a confused and complex mix.

Living with less.

The clean out continues at home.
Old clothes, cupboard drawers - it is a good feeling.
Many more to go.
Live with less.
Reading Truth by Peter Temple - don't know his background, but he paints a realistic picture of the inner workings of the police.
I like his quick sentences that start of seemingly mid thought, almost like a riff.
An author who can nail a person with a few sharp words.

Staggering floods

In a cleaning makeover frenzy.
It is time to get things sorted.
Frustration with passport renewal stuff, but I will keep trying.
Flood crisis is staggering to see.
Am about to investigate donating via the Uniting Church.
It is like 10 years of rain all at once.
It feels really dry in S.A. despite a bit of faint drizzle.
Art courses I was intersted don't seem to be happening - yet.
So will have to do my own thing.
Book proposal??

Where have I been? 2010 got just too crazy busy.

Haven't blogged for ages.
Life got a little crazy busy.
I think 10 months is too long not to have a proper holiday.
Or maybe I should have downsized the work commitments - 2011?
Have a bit of a cough at the moment that I am ignoring.
Have a few weeks off. 4 I thing - WOW!
My to do list is too long to write up.
Think it is coffee time, but I'll go home for a plunger.
Cheers for the new year and new possibilities.
