Nearly 50 - Why!?!

Good Morning 2009

Singing along to ABBA and Britney Spears was a hoot a few hours ago.
Britney spears because a little girl named Samantha loved Hit me Baby one more time.
Not my first choice.
The Singstar just plugs into the play station.
Jani and boys left about 10 to 5 this morning.
The house is a mess and I will have Holly Dog to walk when I get home.
Will phone Jani soon.
Looking forward to three days off.
Praise God for this morning.
Praise you!
Praise God for a new year and a new day.
Thank you Father God for making this diverse mixture of people and nature.
The sadness and extremes,
the pleasures and tedium.
The imagination and panoramas of colour,
Life growing wild in intracacies
Skies of hope that are forever open
Land of voices and hopeful eyes
Spirit breathes a yearning for togetherness
We were meant to be loved.

2009 Hmmmm Where will it take me?

Will I be famous, will be rich Here's what she said to me.....
I would like to travel overseas - Latvia,
I would like to read more books,
Love more,
Write more,
watch less crap on TV,
eat less crap,
go to fewer meetings.................
drink a cup of delicious coffee each day
plant more
grow more
grow in faith and giving
get HAPPY
That is an order.
I have decided that Lativa is the go.
I will plan the year around a trip to Riga and beyond.
Forget about travelling in Australia - I want to see Latvia, while Jani's mum is still alive and Jani is okay with travel. Start saving now.

Experience is always personal

Have just read - On Experience and On Longing - little books on big themes.
I am longing for some 'Me' time - craving a quiet house, where I can do what ever I want.
Stay in nightie, drink tea, read, watch a DVD or even do nothing for a while.
Just not have to worry about someone else for a short period of time. Although I know I will be thinking of Jani and boys and Jasmine the whole time.
But I will have Holly Dog to keep me company and go on walks with.
Had coffee and panteone cake/bread today at Three Monkeys cafe/deli. Very yummy warm cake with marcepone, coffee so so. Other cafe closed for a holiday.
2009 hmmmm Where will it take me?
Will find out soon as it is only hours away.
I will remember 2008 as a turning point financially, professionally and emotionally.
There has been a job change, a loved one dying and more money in the coffers.
A child gets employment and the other two are waiting in the wings.
Jani is the one who I am most concerned for - his health physically and mentally.
Pray for Jani - healing for his troubled mind and body.
Prayers for Jasmine in her dual role in 09 ? new accommodation
Pray for Julian - let him speak to others
for Jerry - that he will enjoy his work as a peer supporter and grow stronger and sturdy as a violinist/chef extroirdinaire.
Here's looking at you!

Margaret Throsby and Slumdog

Hi all,
Reading Margaret Throsby - interviews - highly recommended.
Also go and see Slumdog Millionaire - full of pathos and gritty real life scenes of India.
Have you ever wondered what the inside of a call centre was like? Plus the behind the scenes of the Indian version of Who wants to be a millionaire - exactly the same format and lines - ie we'll find out after the break...Great scenes and some horrific ones too.
I need to phone and email people and do some care plan stuff on the computer which doesn't highly stimulate me, but I usually find once I get started it is not so bad. Like housework too.
So now to work.
Cheers.
p.s. Christmas was not so bad. Perhaps some people will just not do the midnight service next year. I am really not inclined to do new years eve either, but we will see - rock star?
I might go all trippy....!

All is calm and all is bright

Round yon virgin, mother and child
Holy infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night is apparently 190 years old having first been sung in 1818
I have been to the midnight service and been dragged out of it at the end when I was saying happy christmas to everyone
Said partner was in a foul mood and I feel I am just beginning to come out of it
What do you do?
Well I got to sleep in and my children made me the best breakfast ever!
Then go out to a combined christmas lunch with lots of yummy food and beverages
So now I think if you haven't done everything for christmas, it doesn't matter!
We're there, what a ride.
I have spoken to most people I have sent a card and letter to - they all dig the letter.
So it will go on.
Just people please write, find a way.
I have the office blissfully to myself, so peaceful.
Tomorrow is another day and off to Inglefarm for the Esots christmas.
God be with me.
Signing off for Christmas 08.
Luv,
Jenny

Marriage - Needs work in romance and bedroom. Friendship is strong.

Think I'll have to go now... go now.

Star Child

As promised....

Star Child

Star Child, Earth child,
Go between of God,
Love child, Christ child
Heaven’s lightning rod:
This year, this year
Let the day arrive
When Christmas comes for everyone
Everyone alive.

Street child, beat child
No place left to go,
Hurt child, used child
No one wants to know:
This year, this year
Let the day arrive
When Christmas comes for everyone
Everyone alive

Grown child, old child,
Memory full of years,
Sad child, lost child,
Story told in tears:
This year, this year
Let the day arrive
When Christmas comes for everyone
Everyone alive.

Spared child, spoiled child,
Having wanting more,
Wise child, faith child,
Knowing joy in store:
This year, this year
Let the day arrive
When Christmas comes for everyone
Everyone alive.

Hope for - peace child,
God’s stupendous sign,
Down to - earth child,
Star of stars that shine:
This year, this year
Let the day arrive
When Christmas comes for everyone
Everyone alive.

Singing from the lectionary

He came from the Glory

He came from the Glorious Kingdom!
This is a song I can't get out of my head. The Virgin Mary had a baby boy...
It will be sung with a 100 voice choir tomorrow evening at the McLaren Vale Carols.
I do need to practice.
Thinking of my big to do list.
Please pray for Marie and her father who is in hospital.
Please pray for Jan Strout who is in hospital - a prayer for healing and rest.
Thank you God for our church home.
And they say that his name is Jesus!
Time to get back to writing other things.
See you around.....

Christmas Tree festivities

My feet haven't stood still for a week, since I began gearing up for the christmas tree festival in Willunga. So many places to be. Notices to give out and promotion, promotion and more promotion. It was a high being at the festival, talking to the visitors and the tree and their maker.
However I was exhausted on the Monday following this. Then had to gear up for a very important interview - tension that I could feel pounding in my brain. Truly I did put myself under a lot of pressure.
Still haven't got the official word, fingers crossed. It really means a lot to me.
To be recognised and a real part of this team.
I have written a lot on the festival so purposely haven't filled in all the details here. Suffice to say it is a wonderful feeling to see the pieces of a puzzle all come together amid the mess, mayhem and madness that is christmas decorating!!
See you later.....
