Had the privlidge of seeing The Last Station today.
Another glimpse into the life of someone I had previously had no knowledge about.
Leo Tolstoy was a rebel pacifist and free thinker of his time.
I have 2 minutes left on this computer so can't write as much as I want to.
But it should also be noted I could watch James McAvoy ALL day!!
Bravo to Michael Hoffman director and screen writer.
So beautifully filmed too.

Happiness in minutes or your money back...........
Don't worry, be melancholy - says Phillip Adams - an interesting speaker at the next 'Happiness and its Causes' conference. I would love to go, but it is quite pricey.
I was at another conference - somewhere - and a speaker pointed out that 'the human mind is continually trying to talk its way out of happiness. I now recall it was the Spirituality & Health conference -due again in 2011, hopefully.
John Barrymore (the actor) also said 'Happiness sneaks in through a door you didn't know you left open.' ie Don't look too hard and it might find you.
For me this is the key - it is a moment that you cannot manufacture - lest you be made to pay again and again ie addictions to...almost everything.
Had a nice pennisula platter at Chrystina's on High Street - don't have to travel far on this humid autumn day - sounds like it is staying that way for a while.
Frustrating week at work, I had the dregs of a head cold and it was a real effort.
Contemplating going part time to do more things I love - as opposed to have to - with people I love - as opposed to made to.
Finished 'Solar' - Tales of a shambolic, obese, self absorbed, plagurist, nobel prize winning scientist and his many exploits on both sides of the law - a fine read, not having read any others of this author I would recommend it - a wonderful take on life on page 225 - about how he thinks he should have life all worked out by now - but nothing is.
Should read the Lacuna next but there are quite a few waiting for it in the library system.
Will check Doubleday price.
To follow up various school projects, phone accounts and license issues with children.

Australian Easter Bloom - the Hakea.
Australian Easter blooms.
Newspress - Australia doesn't celebrate spring @ Easter - der.
But we in Willunga now have a flower as a symbol for the new life blooming - the HAKEA.
A crimson and gold frilled native gum flower.
Plenty of lovely images on google.
Have to have a look around my neighbourhood, as many have told me of various locations where this is in full flower.
I need to learn how to put a few images on here.

Collaging my way around the world.
What you can and cannot put on a blog - seems there is plenty of press about the cyber world.
I write what I feel.
Frustrations - :
Pay office merry-go-rounds.
Working in the mental health field - Why don't you write a case study on community mental health rehabilitation - my clinical supervisor suggested, after I ventured the idea of writing something. Hmmmm, am looking into this, first I need to get an idea of how to structure it.
Have a few cases in mind. It has been an interesting 18 months.
Projects - :
Present a display on my overseas sojourn - this Thursday?! Jani is getting my souveniers back, as we speak. I am going to go with what I know, which is hard copy collages and displays. If it works out I will follow on with a session for others ie neighbours, friends and the like.
Letters to write - :
The Weekend Australian magazine - Another letter in praise of comfortable shoes.
Sunday Mail - To Christopher Pyne - who thinks there are votes in keeping Glenside as a museum piece and sacred site - I've got news for you, it's the 21st Century and people need services outside of the few square metres of Glenside - I think the very name Glenside is also holding things back in this state in mental health. Give me more room and I will go on for hours on this one.
Upcoming events - :
Girl's Brekkie - next Saturday, I have decided to bring the bubbly.
Friendship Club - my talk..............
Community Outreach Network in Taparoo - my talk on the Christmas Tree Festival.
Now it's time to collage

Easter Rememberances 2010
Easter rememberances.
Two years ago a dog named Holly arrived. She is now firmly part of the family and I am convinced she understands English very well and/or is an expert in body language.
Two years ago we said goodbye to my dad. Holly had arrived, my sister came to say her last goodbyes and there was the difficult job of liaising with health workers about letting someone die.
No more drugs, that don't work. No more trying. Getting born is no easy thing, but leaving this world is also really hard. For all those who stand on the sidelines, hoping it is not happening, or at least not now. A bit more time, another week or two?
Easter is also the celebration of the resurection, having gone through the rememberance of Good Friday, which is a day of mourning. I can't get my head past the brutality and pain.
On sunday I was worship leader, which fills me with nervous energy - despite getting a head cold that was brewing in the lead up to easter.
Flowering of the cross is a tradition that does not need words. As a kids art project we also collaged a cross with flowers. There was music and walkabouts, communion and old faces.
I went on the hunt for a song - Picture of Jesus by Ben Harper. Failing to get it downloaded I found it at JB Hi Fi - Ben Harper and the Blind Boys of Alabama - A real standout.
Okay so it didn't all go perfectly, a hymn glitch and a dropped bible(!)
But the celebration was real.
Christ the Lord is Risen today.
Easter is about making everything open - God made real, life travels on.
Evolution is about evolving and change, the real frontier is what happens to the real you as you float away from this body, these emotions and connections.
Not understanding is a given in this business.
